Can I have liposuction surgery through the NHS?

I had an abortion 18 months ago, I was 14 weeks pregnant. I have tried my hardest to loose the weight from my stomach.

Ever since I have tried dieting only eating 3 healthy meals a day, I have tried everything and no matter what I do I can't get the weight to come off.

I was just wondering if I can have the liposuction done through the NHS as every time I look at my stomach it just reminds me of what I did and it gets me all depressed.

I used to be a healthy size 12 and now at a size 16-18, I feel really depressed and down all the time. So I was wondering if it is possible to get the liposuction surgery on the NHS.

The best approach at this stage is to discuss with your GP about your situation and identify if input from a dietician may be able to help you.

If this fails, and the weight is poorly controlled there are also options regarding weight loss treatments either with medication or surgery.

Liposuction is typically not funded through the NHS except in some special indications, and I have not heard of a situation like yours being approved for funding.
