Questions & Answers The Surgical Experience About Anaesthesia

I want to have my nose fixed so that I look normal again.

I had my first nose surgery 22 years ago. It was perfect for around 11 years but then it collapsed on the centre bridge.

I then had the second surgery in or around 2006 after a fall. The surgeon promised to fix the broken bridge without changing my nose shape. Unfortunately this was not the case as he later told me that he had separated the muscle under my nose to give me an enhanced upper lip. He had also narrowed my nose which has given the appearance of it now looking long and beak like with an extended tip and a deep tight crease beneath my nose all especially noticible when I smile.

I have lost so much confidence in the way I look. I have gone from being a sociable lady with a career in the beauty industry all my life to now not wanting to go out or see my friends. I have stopped work in the last 2 years due to a work related injury. This time off work has made me focus on all the things that are wrong with my appearence. All I want is to have it fixed so that I look normal again. Please can you advise me if you can help me solve this problem?

From your description, there appears to be a large number of problems associated with the current shape of the nose.

I would be happy to see in consultation and try to identify using computer imaging and simulation what it is that you would like to see as a result of surgical treatment.

Considering the psychological implications though, I would also encourage you to enlist the assistance of a psychologist, as it may be crucial to the quality of the treatment outcome.
