The LIPOSONIX treatment uses focused ultrasound energy, a common technology used since the 1950s. With the LIPOSONIX, this energy is used to destroy unwanted abdominal fat without cosmetic surgery or downtime.
During treatment, your health care provider places the head of the LIPOSONIX device on the area to be treated. Ultrasonic energy is focused and targeted on unwanted fat in a deep layer of the skin.
The focused ultrasound energy passes through the skin to directly target the fat tissue, which absorbs the energy and is destroyed.
Over 8 to 12 weeks, the body's own natural healing process metabolizes destroyed cells. The unwanted fat is reduced, and you're left with a thinner, more contoured abdomen.
