Asked on 14 February 2012
I have been diagnosed with anti-phospholipid syndrome last March, do you think I can still have breast reduction operation?
Moreover can this operation been carried out under local anaesthetic?
I have never carried out a breast reduction interventions under local anaesthetic, but I am aware that it has been described.
In view of the risks associated with anti-phospholipid syndrome, I would advise you to discuss with your GP and request an NHS referral, since treatment like this would be better carried out in the multidisciplinary environment with close collaboration with their haematology department.
