Question

I am considering of having an alar base reduction, but am worried that I might have a crease at the tip of the nose after the procedure. Can it be prevented?

Answer

I have not seen this problem occur with alar base reduction, and I do not see how the tip of the nose would be affected by narrowing the base of the nostrils.

It is possible to create a bowing effect for the nostril rim contour, depending on the way the alar base reduction is carried out.
