I had a breast augmentation two years ago since then I have had no nipple sensation in both nipple areola complex i can only feel pain if this area is pinched. The surgeon from transform advised me that I may regain sensation in 3 to 5 years.
In general, if the recovery of sensation for pain was recent, there is still improvement to be expected in other sensory modalities, like temperature, light touch, pressure, as nerve fibres recover at different rates.
If the recovery of pain sensation was over 6 months ago and there has been no change since, the likelihood of further improvement is lower.
Unfortunately, breast surgery does carry a risk of reduced sensation in the nipple and in the area below the nipple, and in the case of augmentation it is more likely related to be related to stretching of the nerves than to the nerve fibres being severed.
