I have a bump on the nose, can it be fixed?

Question

I had a nose surgery last year but two weeks after the surgery I developed a sort of bubble on the side of the tip of the nose and a bump in the middle of the nose.

The doctor said it was a scar that cause it.

Can you tell me how did I get those scars and if they can be fixed?

Answer

It is possible for scar tissue build-up to alter the shape of the nose, more commonly around the tip, and more frequently when the skin of the nose is thicker.

In other instances, as the swelling comes down, the initially smooth contour becomes somewhat irregular, highlighting the contour of the cartilages.

It is a matter of improving the scar tissue only, steroid injections can help. If the shape irregularity is due to the cartilage framework, surgical intervention may be necessary to improve the appearance.
