Question

I have ugly, irregular facial scars affecting facial (beard) hair lines and my right nasolabial fold. Part of the scar especially right side face is hypo-pigmented.

I am looking to have a scar excision, revision operation done to restore the hair lines and my right nasolabial folds.

The scars are due to many previous facial operation over the last 20 years, mostly in Iraq, and one in UK.

The operations were carried out for acne scars.

Answer

It is difficult to visualise the type and extent of problems you describe, and a consultation would be necessary even for basic advice.

Scar revision is always a possibility, but it is important to appreciate the degree of improvement that you can expect from it.

Pharmacological intervention to optimise the scar following surgery may also be necessary for best results.
