I had an operation for a overbite nearly 2 years ago now. Everything went fine. However I naturally have a large and wide jaw which I am wanting surgery on, to make it smaller.
I don't even like going out the house, I am so depressed about the way I look.
I don't know who to see or who to contact, do you have any suggestions ?
Sometimes, the wide angle of the jaw is related to strong development of the jaw muscles, and can be influenced by something as simple as botulinum toxin injections.
It would be preferable to have a consultation using 3-D imaging, assessment and planning in order to design changes that you would feel comfortable with.
Depending on the changes targeted, it becomes clearer what type of procedures would be suitable, and what would be the specialist or group of specialists more likely to be or to assist you. Facial sculpting, is frequently a multidisciplinary approach, if one aims to take things to a higher level.
