Question

I would like to have revision rhinoplasty, I have been told that the area between my nostrils (called the collumella) and area just below the most anterior portion of my tip (called infratip lobule) are to pronounced. Some drs refer to this as hanging columella and an accentuated double break, also there is no differentiation between my bridgeline and tip (called a supratip break). In your personal opinion what surgery procedure would you use to correct this (closed or open rhinoplasty)?

Answer

In my experience, I would certainly feel a lot more comfortable performing this type of correction through an open rhinoplasty approach.

This is in part because of the increased number of options available for reshaping the columella and providing nasal tip support, and because of the possibility to stabilise the components of the cartilage framework in the area.
