Question

I'm a 22 year old black man, considering a buccal fat pad reduction.

How much does this generally cost and are there any complications for darker skin such as permanent scaring as I've heard this is common place?

Answer

Buccal fat reduction takes place through an access incision inside the mouth. As such, there are no external scars, or changes in the texture or colour of the skin.

When associated with liposuction for a more extensive change in the facial contours, the scars are typically placed in the corner of the mouth and behind the earlobe, and as such the visibility is minimal.
