For years I have had large legs and bottom. Basically I am a size 12/14 on my top half and a size 18/20 bottom half. I have dieted and exercised but it doesn't change.
I was wondering if this type of surgery could give me the help I need. I am 40 this year and feel I have had enough of hiding away because I am embarrassed.
From your description, it seems that it is a case of true lipodystrophy, when there is disproportionate fatty tissue deposition in a segment of the body.
In some instances, this can be associated also with disturbance in the lymphatic circulation, but more commonly it is an isolated effect.
Liposuction has a place in reducing this imbalance but also has limitations. These are primarily related to the quality of the skin, which often displays some signs of cellulite.
It would be necessary to evaluate the situation in a consultation in order to provide adequate guidance regarding the potential benefits and risks of the treatment.
