Your questions answered by our surgeon, Lucian Ion, FRCS(Plast)
Asked on 14 April 2012
My nose was normal.
First operation, the surgeon unfortunately extracted the bone and cartilages which led to a sever deformity.
Second operation was to build up the nose again, it was good but with difficulty in breathing.
Third one was is to improve breathing.
The surgeon made the operation on lower turbinates.
I am still 10 days after the last operation but I still have a sensation that I can't breathe well.
Would that improve later on?
Sometimes, in the early days after surgery swelling inside the nose creates blockage, that will get better in time.
You should discuss with your surgeon your concerns, as he or she knows what has been done during the treatment, and therefore the associated recovery sequence.
