I am a 24 year old woman with a medium-large amount of fat in my cheeks. I have already gone for botox treatment to reduce the size of my cheek but it wasn't really effective.
I am wondering if it's necessary for me to go for facial fat reduction. Are there any side effects?
My approach in situations like what you are describing is to evaluate in a consultation using 3-D imaging and simulation the characteristics of the reduction you wish to achieve.
The typical surgical interventions for volume reduction in the face other than botulinum toxin include fatty tissue reduction either through liposuction or buccal fat reduction, or reduction of the bony skeleton.
From your description, soft tissue reduction appears to be the procedure of choice and that the decision between liposuction and buccal fat reduction depends on the extent of the changes both in terms of surface and depth. Customisation of the treatment involves your participation in terms of preferences.
