I am Afro Caribbean and want to have rhinoplasty to reduce my nostrils. How long on average will it take for the scarring to be less noticeable?
Isolated reduction of the nostrils or alar base reduction, can be carried out under a local anaesthetic and it is possible to place the stitches or sutures on the inside of the wound.
There is however some visibility of the scars and it takes at least 3 to 4 weeks for them to be significantly more discreet, and approximately 3 to 4 months to be significantly softer and achieve minimal visibility.
