I had Lasik eye surgery 2 years ago, will having rhinoplasty done cause any problems?

Question

I had lasik eye surgery 2 yrs ago. Will having rhinoplasty done cause any problems, i.e. bruising around the eyes?

I do suffer from dry eyes as a result of the surgery so do you take any steps to reduce potential problem such as taping the eyelids?

Answer

During the surgery, it is routine to use lubricant ointments and taping the eyelids closed for protection during the surgery.

The swelling and bruising of the mid-face that can occur with rhinoplasty surgery is not likely to lead to any changes in the function of the eyes.
