I have a double chin and would love to have it removed.
Can I have this done but I would not like to be put to sleep, I am taking blood pressure tablets.
At the time of the consultation, I typically use computer imaging in 3-D and simulation to understand the degree of change that you would like to achieve.
Based on this decision it is possible to evaluate what is the more appropriate surgical intervention to achieve the targets.
If a more limited intervention like liposuction is planned, typically in the context of more elastic skin along the jawline and under the chin, local anaesthesia and intravenous sedation are perfectly suitable.
If a more extensive intervention is planned, like an anterior neck lift, a general aesthetic is more appropriate.
Either way, the blood pressure control needs to be good prior to an anaesthetic in order to have adequate safety.
