Question

I have heard good things about your rhinoplasty work and am interested in having that procedure done. I take Regaine (Minoxidil) which I apply to my scalp twice a day. WIll this in any way contradict the healing process? For example, making swelling worse.

Answer

I would not anticipate any impact on the rhinoplasty intervention from minoxidil. The product is a vasodilator, but by the time it has achieved this effect in other areas than the application territory, it also lowers the blood pressure, which decreases the chance of swelling. The dosage for treatment for the scalp is typically not associated with noticeable changes in the circulation elsewhere in the body.
