Question

I need a columella scar revision due to a notch from previous surgery. I have also had silicone 1000 injections in my nose with no problems. Would you still complete a scar revision based on this?

My surgeon who injected said there would be no problem doing a scar revision and he would be happy to do for me but he lives in New York and I would prefer not to travel that far for a scar revision.

Answer

I have to say I do not have experience of revising scars around free silicone injections and I would be very worried about the risk of infection and distortion.

In the UK, free silicone injections are not an acceptable form of treatment, and I think it would be preferable that you have the surgery done with your surgeon in New York as he would be in a better position to assist you.
