I am a 22 years old male who had orthognathic surgery two years ago to correct an underbite. It was completely successful but it left me with puffy cheeks, particularly on the lower face.

Might buccal reduction be appropriate for me, to give my face more definition, to highlight my cheek bones and jaw line?

Answer

Buccal fat reduction is indeed a possibility for what you are describing.

My approach would be to use 3-D imaging and simulation during the consultation to try and define more accurately what it is that you would like to achieve as a change, and based on this to determine what is the most advantageous type of treatment to carry out.
