I had a lower eyelid tuck sometime ago and underneath the eyes they are fine. My problem seems to be, that the top of my cheekbones (underneath my eyes) has a puffiness like fluid, worse under my right side.
I had been told it was some sort of water retention but I'm not sure. If you gently lift the skin up or to the sides like a lift they disappear.
Would a mid vertical style lift help or is there something else that may work on this area?
Terms that have been used in relation to water retention in the upper part of the cheek just under the lower eyelids are typically malar oedema or malar festoons.
There is one publication that suggests vertical mid facelift may assist:
Vertical Subperiosteal Mid-face-lift for Treatment of Malar Festoons Johannes Franz Hoenig • Daniel Knutti • Antonio de la Fuente
I would be happy to ceiling consultation and evaluate the characteristics of the problem at hand and treatment options.
