Asked on 25 April 2012
I have a saddle nose and have been told in the past by various consultants that nothing can be done.
However I have read about ART (anatomic replication technique), is this something possible?
The anatomic replication technique is just a beautiful name for something that has been done for a long time by many surgeons and it is rib cartilage grafting for structural support of the nasal bridge. It is also used if necessary for support of the tip of the nose, but specifically the saddle nose deformity is related to loss of support in the cartilaginous part of the bridge.
Yes indeed it is something that I loss of do routinely, and it is similar to ethnic rhinoplasty which involves augmentation of the bridge of the nose for developmental purposes.
You can see some examples on the rhinoplasty section of the patient gallery
I would be happy to see you in consultation and discuss your concerns and requirements
